Each kit comes with a powder and solution that are mixed together either in a bowl or within a syringe. Once mixing begins, the material is ready to implant in 30 seconds.
Depending on the application, the material formulation allows the viscosity level to be tailored for molding or injecting into the defect.
Once mixed and implanted, the material is set in just 2 minutes, at which time drilling to install fixation hardware can occur.
Studies have shown this material has significantly greater adhesive properties than competitive material calcium phosphate.
The material remains radiopaque in x-rays so the rate of remodeling progress can be assessed.
